Workshop format

The workshop uses a draft feedback format:  Participants will prepare and circulate drafts about two weeks before the workshop (extended abstracts through full papers), and prepare comments on two other drafts.  At the workshop, each draft will have a designated session including a brief summary by the author, presentation of prepared comments, and discussion by the whole group.

Draft preparation

"Draft" is understood broadly, including any work not yet published (preferably not yet submitted) between the extended abstract/outline stage (~500 words) and the final draft (~10,000 words).

Your draft does not need to be anonymized or follow any specific formatting guidelines. PDF format is encouraged, but other standard formats (Word) are fine.

Drafts will be due around May 2. Logistics of sharing your draft with the other participants TBA. 

Presentations

The conference space does not have a projector or AV system. Authors should be prepared to deliver a ~5 minute oral summary of the project. Commentators should be prepared to spend ~10 minutes providing constructive feedback and commentary orally. The remainder of the session is open discussion. Commentators are encouraged but not required to also provide written feedback, before or after the workshop.

Friday, May 16: Arrival

DJH should arrive approx. 4-4:30pm

Saturday, May 17: Workshop Day 1

Each session is 45 minutes, with a 10 minute break between sessions

Sunday, May 17: Workshop and Yosemite Excursion

Exact times for the excursion and dinner will be set by the group over lunch.

Participants who do not wish to join excursion may depart any time after 12:30, or stay through Monday.

Monday, May 18: Departure

Breakfast will be available starting at 7am
